It has been a while since our last update back in February, and honestly, there has not been a huge amount of visible progress on Two Byte Games since then.
A big reason for that is life.
This is my final year of my degree, and a lot of my focus has been on school, financial stability, and trying to land a job or internship in my field. I have been actively searching for opportunities related to engineering, software, embedded systems, and game development, and that has taken priority for now.
As much as I love Two Byte Games, I have also realized something important: instability puts a real burden on creativity. When you are stressed about money, school, and your future, it becomes much harder to create freely. I do not want to approach Two Byte Games from a place of pressure, fear, or desperation. I want to come back to it with confidence, stability, and the energy it deserves.
That does not mean the studio is abandoned.
We are still writing ideas, designing systems, planning possible games, and thinking deeply about what we want Two Byte Games to become. Nothing is fully set in stone yet, and nothing major is currently being implemented, but the ideas are still alive. We are taking our time with them instead of rushing into production before we are ready.
On the technical side, I have still been doing minor work on the engine. The goal right now is to keep improving it, cleaning things up, and making sure it is better prepared for the games we want to build in the future. Even if progress is slow, the foundation is still being worked on.
So for now, Two Byte Games is in a quieter phase.
Not gone. Not forgotten. Just waiting for the right season.
The job search continues, school continues, and we are still moving forward, just not in the loud, visible way we originally hoped. When the time is right, we want to return to Two Byte Games with a stronger foundation, clearer direction, and more confidence in what we are building.
Thank you to anyone still following along. More will come.
